This report outlines the findings of a mixed methods evaluation of the stronger practice hubs programme.

The programme was launched in November 2022. It aimed to support settings to address the impact of the pandemic on young children, by establishing hubs of strong early years settings.

The hubs:

  • shared good practice
  • made lasting local networks of early years practitioners

The evaluation aimed to understand:

  • the experience of implementing the programme
  • the early years sector’s response
  • how far the programme improved the knowledge, confidence and practice of those working in early years
