Details

The early years foundation stage profile is statutory for the 2017 to 2018 academic year.

This guidance is for early years and key stage 1 practitioners, headteachers and setting managers and local authorities to aid the completion and moderation of early years foundation stage (EYFS) profile judgements so that outcomes are accurate and consistent across all early years settings.

The 2018 handbook contains moderation guidance for local authorities that was previously published in the ‘Early years foundation stage profile moderation: essential requirements and effective practice for local authorities’.

The guidance has also been aligned with the 2018 teacher assessment guidance for key stage 1 and key stage 2.

The changes made to this year’s guidance do not include the reforms to the EYFS profile which were announced in the government response to the ‘Primary assessment in England’ consultation.
