CRM14: criminal legal aid application form

Applying for criminal legal aid in the limited circumstances where the eForm cannot be used: main application form (CRM14), financial statement (CRM15) and completion guidance

Included in this publication are:

  • CRM14 - application for legal aid in criminal proceedings (includes the Interests of Justice Test and financial statement)
  • CRM15 - financial statement for legal aid in criminal proceedings
  • CRM15c - continuation of questions
  • Guidance for CRM14 and CRM15

These should only used in limited circumstances where you do not have access to the eForm portal, such as where you only hold a civil contract and are applying in relation to civil contempt or breach of a civil injunction under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014

In the event that systems are unavailable for an extended period, the LAA will advise accordingly. This could potentially include using paper forms for any lengthy system outage.

Depending on the applicant’s answers the CRM14 will tell you whether to complete a CRM15.
