This scheme is administered by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). You can apply for compensation online.

The Scheme explains:

  • the rules about applying
  • the types of compensation CICA can pay
  • why you may not get compensation
  • what to do if you do not agree with CICA’s decision

This scheme applies from 13 June 2019 onwards.

If you applied before 13 June 2019, you can read the 1996, 2001, and 2008 schemes, as well as the original 2012 scheme before it was amended.
