Details

Use this form to register a change from a freehold estate in commonhold to an ordinary freehold. You will also need to send us consents using form CON2.

Commonhold is a way of owning land or a building which is split into a number of units. The unit-holder owns the freehold interest in the unit and is a member of the Commonhold Association which owns and manages the common parts of the development. If no unit-holders have been registered yet (the ‘transitional period’) the developer of a new development can change the commonhold back to an ordinary freehold.
