In response to concerns about children’s privacy and confidentiality, the Department for Education has published this document concerning the use, storage and sharing of information.
It sets out the legal context for disclosure of that information by His Majesty’s Chief Inspector for Education, Children’s Services and Skills to:
- local authorities
- the police
- the Office of the Children’s Commissioner
- the Secretary of State for Education
It also sets out the practical arrangements and expectations about the disclosure and use of that information by those authorities.
