This leaflet explains how the Child Support Agency (CSA) works out child maintenance for child maintenance cases opened between 5 April 1993 and 2 March 2003. These are known as ‘1993 scheme’ cases. The CSA uses different rules for working out child maintenance on cases opened on or after 3 March 2003 called ‘2003 scheme’ cases.
