Details

Use this form if you are a corporate body and not a conveyancer or UK financial institution and you are sending one of the following applications to HM Land Registry:

  • transfers (whether or not for value)
  • transfers and deeds relating to the appointment or retirement of trustees
  • leases (whether or not for value) that are being registered
  • charges (mortgages) that are being registered
  • discharge of a charge in form DS1
  • release of a charge in form DS3
  • surrenders of leases
  • most voluntary and compulsory applications for first registration where the title deeds have been lost or destroyed
  • all other applications for compulsory first registration
  • any person who is a party to one of the above transactions who is not represented by a conveyancer

Completion of form ID2 is also required for a corporate body changing their address.

You do not need to complete this form if the value of the land involved in the disposal does not exceed £6,000.

  1. We are making a couple of minor amendments to the form as a result of the amendment to form ID3 and the withdrawal of form ID4. We are also amending panel 4 to clarify that, if the application is being lodged electronically, a scan of both sides of the photo also need to be lodged.

  2. Form ID2 has been amended as we have agreed with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) that CLC-regulated licensed probate practitioners can verify identity even though they may not be conveyancers or solicitors.

  3. We have amended the form as we have decided to continue with the practice we introduced in May 2020 as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19).

  4. The guidance notes in the form have been amended to remove reference to European (EU) Data Protection Law.

  5. The form has been amended to be used in conjunction with new, temporary form ID5 introduced as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

  6. We have amended a guidance note to explain how we process customer data.

  7. The form has been amended as a result of a change to our email addresses.

  8. Advice as to the completion of the form has been added

  9. The form has been amended to reinstate the requirement for the verifier to confirm certain checks about the corporation and the person representing it omitted in error from the previous version.

  10. Additional groups of people can now verify identity.
