This authorisation shall come into effect on 23 February 2015 and shall remain in force until 30 June 2025 unless otherwise revised or revoked.
This authorisation allows deviations from the European requirements for transporting dangerous goods within Great Britain. It permits the carriage of certain cylinders for replacement or installation on a ship or aircraft subject to alternative carriage provisions.
Background to carriage of dangerous goods authorisations
The Secretary of State for Transport for transport, can issue written authorisations that allow for deviations from the requirements of European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail. These authorisations carry conditions and time limits, and apply to carriage within Great Britain only. The authorisations can be withdrawn by the competent authority at any time by means of a written notice.
