Caprine and ovine (live): model health certificates

Competent authorities of exporting countries should use the relevant model health certificate as a template to create a version exporters can apply for to export live caprine and ovine to Great Britain, the Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

     Certificates GBHC630 and GBHC631 have been amended and new certificates published. See the version history for details.

     All old versions of certificates have been removed.

     GBHC015E amended and replaced with new version and updated the version history document.

     Uploaded new version of certificate GBHC015E. Updated the version history document.

     We have published new streamlined certificates which replace those currently in use: - GBHC630 OVI-X: Domestic sheep or goats for breeding or production (replaces GBHC015X and GBHC015E) - GBHC631 OVI-Y: Domestic sheep or goats for slaughter (replaces GBHC016X and GBHC016E)

  7. 11 October 2022

     Multiple changes have been made: 1. Amended box 1.2.a in certificates GBHC015E and GBHC016E. A unique notification number (UNN) needs to be included in this box. 2. Amended the version history notes for certificates GBHC015E ,GBHC015X, GBHC016E and GBHC016X. The previous version of each certificate will continue to be accepted until 1 April 2023.

Details

From 1 January 2021, live caprine and ovine exported to Great Britain must be accompanied by the relevant health certificate. Exporters in EU and non-EU countries should read the guide on how to complete a health certificate.

Certificate GBHC630

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for domestic ovine animals (Ovis aries) and domestic caprine animals (Capra hircus) intended for breeding and/or production after importation (Regulation 206/2010) (OVI-X).

Certificates GBHC631

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for domestic ovine animals (Ovis aries) and domestic caprine animals (Capra hircus) intended for immediate slaughter after importation (Regulation 206/2010) (OVI-Y).
