Details

These documents outline the eligibility criteria for claiming BSOG for commercial and community bus operators.

Commercial operators must offer one of the following:

  • a local bus service outside of London
  • a service in London that is run under the London local service permit
  • a service in London that is exempt from needing the London local service permit

Community operators must offer eligible services used mainly by:

  • people aged 60 or older
  • disabled people
  • people receiving income support or jobseeker’s allowance
  • unemployed or homeless people
  • people who believe that it would be unsafe for them to use public transport
  • carers accompanying the person they care for
