Bradwell Power Generation Company Limited is proposing to build a new nuclear power station at Bradwell in Essex. Its first stage of public consultation ran from 4 March to 1 July 2020.

The Environment Agency, in its role as a statutory consultee, is responding to Bradwell Power Generation Company Limited’s stage 1 Development Consent Order consultation on proposals for a power station and associated development.

This document sets out the Environment Agency’s comments and advice about the proposed main development site and associated development sites.

This response does not represent the Environment Agency’s final view in relation to any future Development Consent Order application, or Environmental Permit applications made to us. The Environment Agency’s final view will take account of information included in the application and the latest guidance available at that time.

Bradwell Power Generation Company Limited must apply for and obtain relevant permits from the Environment Agency before Bradwell B can be constructed or operated.
