This report reviews the evidence of misuse and harm in relation to the benzofuran-type substances. The evidence concerning these substances and closely related analogues was considered by the ACMD at meetings of the Novel Psychoactive Substances Committee and by the full Council in 2012 and 2013. A Temporary Class Drug Order (TCDO) for these substances and some closely related analogues came into force on 10 June 2013.
