Get help with your Home Office application if you cannot use a computer or the internet

If you’re in the UK, you can get help filling in your online Home Office application if you:

  • do not feel confident using a computer or mobile device
  • do not have internet access
  • do not have access to a device like a laptop or smart phone

This help is known as assisted digital support.

You can get help to fill in your online application for:

  • British citizenship
  • settlement (indefinite leave to remain) and long term residency
  • the EU Settlement Scheme
  • a Family visa or extension
  • a UK Ancestry visa
  • British National (Overseas) visa
  • refugee and stateless travel documents and visas
  • voluntary return to your home country

You can also get help with replacing lost or stolen cards or other documents, return of documents and reporting a change in circumstance.

If you need help to apply for a Student visa or Work visa, ask your sponsor.

What type of help you can get

You can get:

  • phone support from an adviser
  • in-person support, including with a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter if you ask for one

Things you cannot get help with using this service

You cannot get immigration advice or information about the status of an application through this service.

Contact an immigration adviser if you need help with getting permission to stay in the UK.

Contact UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to check the progress of an application you’ve already submitted.

You cannot get help with your eVisa through this service. You can use webchat to ask about your eVisa or UKVI account.
