If you are buying a motor vehicle to export from the UK to non-EU countries, and are using the Personal Export Scheme you should:

• read the guidance in Personal Export Scheme VAT Notice 707 to make sure you meet all the conditions of the scheme
• use form VAT410 to apply
• keep a copy of form VAT410 for your records

If you are buying a vehicle in Northern Ireland for removal to the EU different rules apply.
