Details

Fishing vessels over 750kW (Approx 1005 HP) must carry two engineers, a Chief Engineer holding a Fishing Class 1 and a Second Engineer holding a Class 2.

This is regardless of the vessel’s length, tonnage or area of operation.

The attached document contains guidance on the requirements and route to obtaining UK Engineering Fishing Class 1 and 2 Licences.

The new route for gaining a UK Engineering Fishing Class 1 Licence in line with MIN 565 is now listed in this guidance.
