  1. Updated form to replace the term 'maiden name' with 'name before marriage'.

  2. Updated form to replace references to Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) with the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA).

  3. Words 'born before 1 July 2006' removed from form to reflect the current purpose of the form.

  4. Updated in line with changes to the biometric residence permit (BRP).

  10. Applying by post is taking much longer than applying online because of coronavirus (COVID-19). It is taking longer than usual to process applications because of coronavirus. This will not affect the decision.

Use this form if you live in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or a British Overseas Territory and want to apply to register as a British citizen if you would have become a British citizen automatically if your parents had been married.

You can also use this paper form if you live elsewhere and want to apply by post. You will need to submit your documents with your application.
