Details

All academies approved for opening by the Secretary of State are charitable companies (the academy trusts) governed by their articles of association. They also enter into a contract – the funding agreement – with the Secretary of State.

The building capacity grant will help fund the post of a business manager, accountant or similar services for a period of up until March 2015.

The conversion support grant may be used only for:

  • obtaining legal and financial advice in respect of the conversion process
  • the costs of software licence transfers
  • HR/TUPE advice
  • Rebranding costs
  • expenses incurred in setting up of the academy trust

Completed forms should be returned to the DfE contact/project lead. They should be paid within one month of the form(s) being submitted.
