In summer 2023 the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and the R&D Science and Analysis Programme at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport commissioned a research project to explore the Artificial Intelligence skills needed for life and work in the UK.

The research began in November 2023 and completed in March 2025. It was carried out by a consortium of researchers at Ipsos, The Alan Turing Institute, The University of Warwick, and Perspective Economics. Ipsos led the consortium.

This Drivers analysis is one of 11 reports produced for the project. We suggest starting with the Summary report, then the Drivers report, before reading the remaining research.
