Details

Independent AI Champions have developed adoption plans to accelerate AI use across key sectors of the UK economy. Each plan identifies barriers to adoption and sets out practical recommendations for government, industry, and workers.

The plans cover advanced manufacturing, clean energy, creative industries, digital and technologies, life sciences, and professional and business services. Together they address common challenges including skills gaps, governance uncertainty, data access, and the difficulty of scaling from pilot projects to sustained deployment.

The Champions take a pro-worker approach throughout, recognising that successful AI adoption depends on workforce capability, trust, and organisational readiness as much as technology access.

The plans were developed by the following AI champions:

  • Chris Dungey — Advanced Manufacturing
  • Lucy Yu — Clean Energy
  • Sally Davies — Creative Industries
  • Katie Gallagher OBE — Digital and Technologies
  • Dave Hallett — Life Sciences
  • Shaheen Sayed — Professional and Business Services

The Financial Services sector adoption plan will be published this summer.

The government has published its response to the plans. Read the government response
