Advancing the South Africa Just Energy Transition Partnership: 12-month progress update

At COP26 the governments of South Africa and France, Germany, the UK and the US, and the European Union (the International Partners Group, IPG) announced a new Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). In line with the November 2021 Political Declaration, the IPG undertook to mobilise an initial $8.5 billion over the next 3 to 5 years to advance the JETP.

The IPG also undertook to provide a progress update after 6 months and 12 months.  This update records progress since the initial 6-month progress update. It is for the leaders of the South Africa JETP, provided by the Presidential Climate Finance Task Team and the IPG.
