Applies to England and Wales

Details

The UK Advanced Nuclear Pipeline is a register of privately led advanced nuclear projects seeking deployment in England or Wales, that government has assessed and believes are, in principle, sufficiently mature and could credibly be delivered in the UK, subject to all applicable regulatory and government approvals.

This guidance is for organisations developing advanced nuclear projects that are seeking entry to the pipeline. It sets out the information and evidence that DESNZ and Great British Energy – Nuclear require to:

  • assess a project’s maturity and potential viability through the Project Readiness Assessment (PRA)
  • determine whether a project may be invited to join the Pipeline

We welcome proposals from privately led advanced nuclear technology projects, including Small Modular Reactors, Advanced Modular Reactors and Micro Modular Reactors, that meet the eligibility criteria set out in this guidance and are seeking to progress towards potential deployment in the UK.

The opportunity to submit proposals will open in March 2026.

Project proposers should submit proposals when they consider their project to be ready to undergo the PRA.
