The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Kwasi Kwarteng has accepted revised statutory undertakings relating to the acquisition of Sepura plc. by Hytera Communications Corporation Ltd.

Revised undertakings have been provided by Sepura Ltd., Project Shortway (Hytera UK) and Hytera Communications Corporation Ltd. These undertakings supersede the original undertakings accepted by the Secretary of State, Greg Hands, on 12 May 2017.

The decision follows a public consultation on the content of the draft revised undertakings, which opened on 28 September 2021 and closed on 14 October 2021. Having received no representations, the Secretary of State believes the undertakings will provide continued assurance that sensitive information and technology will be protected while ensuring the continued supply of secure communication devices used by the emergency services.

The Secretary of State has published a copy of the signed undertakings.
