To allow you sufficient time to prepare and refine your bids we’ve decided to delay the deadline to submit proposals to the finding explosives hidden in electrical items themed competition. The new closing date for submissions will be Thursday 15 February 2018 at midday. Following the normal assessment process, funding decisions will now be released on Friday 23 March 2018.
If you’re successful, our commercial team will be in touch to get contracting started shortly after the Decision Conference. If you’re not successful, we’ll give you feedback to help you understand why.
Please note that we will be updating the online competition document to reflect these, and other date changes, as there will be knock-on delays to other competition milestones.
The Submissions Service, used for submitting and managing proposals, will re-open incrementally from 7 February 2018.
The Submission Service had been closed done to a security breach. Investigation has found no evidence that any data has been lost or compromised and the remedial work to securely restore the service has been completed.
The Submission Service opening schedule is as follows:
7 February - open for submitting themed competition proposals
19 February - open for submitting proposals for the Open Call for Innovation
Total funding for phase 1 of this competition is up to £3 million. This is our second Future Aviation Security Solutions (FASS) competition is part of the joint Department for Transport and Home Office FASS programme.
