DSIT and its public bodies produces official statistics covering its sectors.


Statistics publications

The release calendar gives the planned publication dates of DSIT’s statistical releases . The same page also lists our recently published statistics. Publication is usually at 9:30am.

The official statistics produced by DSIT are:

Bioscience and health technology sector statistics Annual data on the bioscience and health technology sector. Published by the Office for Life Sciences, a unit that sits across both DSIT and the Department for Health and Social Care.
Cyber Security Breaches Survey Annual results from businesses, charities, and educational institutions on their cyber security policies, processes, and an overall assessment of resilience.
Digital Sector Economic Estimates Series Statistical series providing estimates of the contribution the digital sector makes to the UK economy, measured by several metrics. These include digital sector estimates for Gross Value Added (GVA), Employment, Earnings, Business Demographics, Trade and Productivity
UK Business Data Survey The UK Business Data Survey seeks to understand the role and importance of personal and non-personal data, domestic and international transfers of data, and activities and opinions relating to data protection legislation and policy in UK businesses.

Following the recent machinery of government changes, the following statistics published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) have relevant policy areas that are now part of DSIT:
