Cyber Security Breaches Survey

This series brings together all the releases of the Cyber Security Breaches Survey.

The government has surveyed UK businesses and - since the 2018 report - charities to find out how they approach cyber security and help them learn more about the cyber security issues faced by organisations. The research informs government policy on cyber security and how government works with industry to make Britain one of the most secure places to do business online.

Consultations and user engagement exercises

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) conducted a consultation on the future of the Cyber Security Breaches Survey (CSBS) from 28 January 2020 to 23 March 2020. Subsequently, the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) carried out a user engagement exercise to gather feedback from users and stakeholders regarding DSIT’s plans for future iterations of the CSBS, which took place from 1 October 2024 to 4 November 2024. You can read the responses to both the consultation and the user engagement exercise below.
