Opportunities to work with Companies House

We publish open tender opportunities on Find a Tender. To take part, you’ll need to register as a supplier and complete your supplier information. You’ll also need to register on the Companies House supplier portal.

Find help on how to register as a supplier.

We voluntarily publish our procurement pipeline of planned activities for contracts with an estimated value of over £2 million. This is to give suppliers information about our future requirements and support forward planning.

We buy most of our goods and services through frameworks such as those set up by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS). Find out about becoming a supplier on a Crown Commercial Service framework agreement. CCS also provides a bid writing guide for suppliers.

Canvassing

Companies House must procure in line with public procurement law. This means all our opportunities must be let in a fair and transparent manner. We will not respond to any suppliers who approach us outside of the stipulated process.

Using artificial intelligence (AI) in your bids

Companies House allows the use of AI in the development of tenders. However, bidders are responsible for checking and verifying the accuracy of their tenders.

Supplier onboarding

When you become a supplier to Companies House, we will give you a link to sign up on our systems.

You must send all invoices, including the relevant purchase order number, by email to accountspayable@companieshouse.gov.uk.

Companies House terms and conditions

We use the Cabinet Office standard contracts for all regulated contracts. This does not include contracts let through frameworks, which use the framework terms.

For low value procurement, Companies House low value terms and conditions apply.

Information for new and existing suppliers

Security assurance

We use a company called Risk Ledger to assure security requirements for our contracts. As a supplier, you can set up an account for free.

Security resources

To support your cyber security, suppliers can sign up to the early warning tool from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The NCSC also provides a free Cyber Essentials toolkit for small to medium sized businesses.

For most contracts with Companies House, suppliers will need to have Cyber Essentials certification (or an equivalent).

Supplier press releases and endorsements

Suppliers must get permission from Companies House to publish press releases related to their working with or for Companies House.

Companies House does not give or support endorsements or references recommending suppliers. On request, Companies House may provide a statement of fact.

Modern slavery

Suppliers can complete a modern slavery risk assessment. This is a free tool available to all businesses.

Carbon reduction plans

For all contracts valued at £5 million a year, suppliers must provide their carbon reduction plan. Read the guidance on creating a carbon reduction plan as a supplier.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs)

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has a dedicated website providing support to SMEs. Visit Business.gov.uk.

CCS has guidance for SMEs and guidance for VCSEs who are looking to join their frameworks.
