The Foreign Secretary started this week in Serbia meeting members of the Serbian Government. He discussed the issues that Serbia need to address on its path towards membership of the European Union.

The Deputy Prime Minister visited Afghanistan to witness first hand the progress being made. He then travelled to Pakistan where he announced how aid from the UK will be allocated.

Yesterday marked the start of direct talks between Israel and the Palestinians in Washington. The Foreign Secretary made a statement welcoming the talks during a press conference with the German Foreign Minister

Minister for Europe David Lidington recorded a video blog of his visit to Lithuania.

On Wednesday the Foreign Office hosted a press conference on the upcoming visit of Pope Benedict XVI.
