National Historic Ships UK launches its third annual photography competition.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Maritime and photography enthusiasts of all ages are being encouraged to submit their best shots for this year’s National Historic Ships photography competition.

The contest, run in partnership with Classic Boat magazine, is looking for the best photos across several categories covering topics such as historic vessels and maritime skills.

This year, for the first time, they have also launched a special overall award for the National Historic Ships UK Young Photographer 2012, which is open to primary and secondary school pupils with top prizes for their school up for grabs.

All short-listed entrants will be invited to the prestigious national awards ceremony on board HMS Belfast in October where the winners will be revealed.

Find out more about the competition, including the prizes on offer this year and details of how to enter, on the National Historic Ships website.
