Pet supplements seized
GIGI Vet supplements stopped at East Midlands Airport.
A package containing pet supplements was identified by a courier company based at a depot in East Midlands Airport.
The package arrived from Latvia containing supplements destined for an Amazon Warehouse in the West Midlands.
The products were detained and subsequently seized by an inspector.
The following products were seized:
- 180 tubs X GIGI Vet Cardio Pet N30
- 120 tubs X GIGI Vet Puppy Growth & Health N90
- 108 tubs X GIGI Vet Puppy Growth & Health N220
These products were intended for use in companion animals and indicated for the treatment or prevention of disease. The product labelling is not compliant with the requirements of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013 (as amended) as it presents the products as a medicine.
The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013 (as amended).
