Northern Ireland companies seek business in Baltic markets

Sixteen Northern Ireland companies are visiting Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, from 24-29th March to explore business opportunities.

The trade delegation has been organised by Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI), a UK business development agency, and is being assisted by UKTI staff at British Diplomatic posts in the three Baltic States.

The mission is the latest in an ongoing programme of initiatives by Invest NI to promote and assist business between Northern Ireland and the three markets. Over the past five years Northern Ireland companies have developed significant business throughout the region and also secured sales in neighbouring markets such as Russia.

Ten of the companies on the mission have taken part in previous Invest NI trade missions to the Baltic and several have representatives in the markets. Brookvent, for instance, a manufacturer of window ventilation and heat recovery systems, recently established an office in Vilnius as a springboard for further growth throughout the Baltics.

FM Environmental is another with significant business in the region, specialising in the supply of water treatment systems including Grease Guardian, automatic grease and fat removal machines. FG Wilson, part of the US Caterpillar, Inc organisation, is a longstanding supplier of diesel and gas-fired electricity generators for standby, emergency and prime power applications.

Visiting the markets for the first time are: Cherry Plastics, O’Hanlon Engineering, Devenish Nutrition, RPS Consulting, Tennants Textiles and Ultraplant.

The delegation will be in Estonia from 24- 26, Latvia 27 - 28 and Lithuania 27 - 29 March.
