Nexium Control 20mg Tablets now available for general sale

Reclassification of Nexium Control 20mg Tablets announced by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency today (27 January 2015).

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has today announced the reclassification of Nexium Control 20mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets from a pharmacy (p) medicine to a general sales list (GSL) medicine.

Nexium Control 20mg Tablets is a medicine to be taken by mouth for the short-term (up to 14 days) treatment of reflux symptoms (eg heartburn and acid regurgitation) in adults.

MHRA has decided that this product is safe enough to be sold on general sale.

MHRA carried out a public consultation on the reclassification.
