New independent reviewer of counter-terrorism legislation

The government’s new independent reviewer of counter-terrorism legislation takes up his post today.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

David Anderson QC was appointed by the Home Secretary to review the operation of the UK’s counter-terror legislation and to write annual reports to be placed before Parliament.

David Anderson is a specialist in EU, public and human rights law and has been a professor of law for more than ten years. He is also visiting professor of law at King’s College, London. He takes over the role from Lord Carlile of Berriew QC.
