Horse dewormer medicine seized
Quest (Moxidectin) equine oral gel seized at East Midlands Airport.
A package containing animal medicine was identified by a courier company based at a depot in East Midlands Airport.
The package arrived from the US containing medicine destined for a residential address in Liverpool.
The following medicine was detained and subsequently seized by an inspector from the Veterinary Medicines Directorate:
- 5 x boxes each containing one 20mg syringe of Quest Gel (Moxidectin)
This product was intended for use in horses. It is not authorised in the UK or NI and was not accompanied by the relevant certification permitting its import.
The medicine was seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
