Health visitor return to practice framework

In February 2011, the Government made a firm commitment to increase the health visitor workforce by 4,200 by 2015.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

This will be implemented through the Health Visiting Implementation Programme, which aims to deliver a new service vision for improving the health and well-being of children, families and communities.

The focus of this framework is on return to practice (RtP) and has been produced to provide information for those considering a return to the health visitor service, and for consideration by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) delivering RtP programmes.
