Minister for the Middle East Tobias Ellwood welcomes completion of voting in first democratic Presidential elections in Tunisia.
Minister for the Middle East Tobias Ellwood said:
I welcome the successful completion of voting in Tunisia’s historic first democratic Presidential elections. The good turnout and peaceful voting showed once again the desire of the Tunisian people to have their say in how their country is run. I welcome the contribution of national and international observers, including the European Union Electoral Observation Mission. I commend the work of the Electoral Commission and the Tunisian authorities in making these elections safe and successful. I look forward to the completion of the electoral process.
