FCO Minister Mark Simmonds condemns rocket fire from Gaza into Israel, calling for those responsible to respect the ceasefire.

Foreign Office Minister Mark Simmonds said:

“I condemn the rocket fire from Gaza into Israel. We again call on those responsible to respect in full the ceasefire put in place in November. All parties should take advantage of the continuing talks brokered by Egypt to resolve the outstanding issues of ending arms smuggling and improving the movement of goods and people, particularly between Gaza and the West Bank, to relieve the suffering of the people of Gaza. The calm since November has been welcome: it should be built upon, not reversed.”
