Elderly care sector in China offers opportunities for UK companies

Join mission to China in October 2014 led by Healthcare UK and CBBC to access opportunities for UK organisations in China's care sector.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The mission to Chengdu, Kunming and Shanghai takes place from 19 to 24 October 2014. It will follow up on a number of business opportunities identified in China’s elderly care sector.

The itinerary will maximise opportunities to meet potential customers and partners while allowing time to develop business relationships.

The visit is also timed to coincide with the 4th Annual Retirement Living World China conference in Shanghai which has offered a ‘Satellite Partnership Seminar’ to showcase UK mission participants at the event.

Register to attend the elderly care mission.

The opportunities in China include those from investors, property developers, operators and regional governments. Requirements in the care sector include:

  • design and development of elderly care facilities
  • service operations
  • training
  • management
  • digital health and care systems

Healthcare UK, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) have been working to identify meaningful business opportunities for UK organisations in China’s elderly care sector over the last 18 months.

This follows on from the publication of CBBC’s research report on the sector ‘Enabling Business Opportunities for UK Companies in China’s Elderly Care Markets’.

Please email for more information on the mission. Deadline for applications is Wednesday 1 October 2014.
