The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) will start issuing Certificates of Free Sale (CFS) from Wednesday 1 April 2015.

Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency

MHRA will take over responsibility for issuing Certificates of Free Sale (CFS) from the Department of Health (DH) from Wednesday 1 April 2015.

During the transition there will be a short period when you will not be able to register or submit an application for a CFS.

The closing date for submitting an application for a CFS using the DH system will be Wednesday 18 March 2015.

After these deadlines no new applications will be accepted, either electronically or by post/courier. You will need to allow enough time to make sure that paper applications are received by the deadlines. All applications will need to be complete and meet the required criteria.

The service will resume from Wednesday 1 April 2015, when you will be able to register and make an application for a CFS.

Email cfs@mhra.gsi.gov.uk if you have any questions.
