British High Commission offices in New Zealand are temporarily closed

Earthquake damage has temporarily closed the offices of the British High Commission in Wellington.

Following an inspection by engineers this morning, damage from the recent earthquakes has been discovered in the offices of the British High Commission in Wellington. For safety reasons, the building will be closed until further notice.

British High Commissioner Jonathan Sinclair said:

All of our staff will be working around the temporary closure to provide the best possible service to British Nationals and to continue to work with the New Zealand Government, businesses and communities. We hope to safely resume normal service as soon as possible.
