Barbara Lamillar, Pro-consul for the British Embassy in Havana visits Holguin province

The purpose of this visit was to better understand new tourism trends in the area and to provide efficient assistance to British nationals.

Pro-consul visiting eastern provinces

Barbara Lamillar, Pro-consul for the British Embassy in Havana recently visited Holguin province and particularly the site of Guardalavaca. She met there with Thomas Cook Holguin staff, local tourism agencies such as CUBANACAN and CUBATUR and representatives of the hotels with highest number of British tourists in house. She also had the opportunity to meet Directors of International clinics and hospitals in the area and the Director of branch office for Consultoria Juridica Internacional and ASISTUR General Manager in Holguin.

Commenting on it Barbara Lamillar said: “Our trip to Holguin and particularly to Guardalavaca has been very useful to get a better idea on what the local problems are, how they can affect health and safety of British nationals and how we can better help our more vulnerable customers.”
