Antibiotics from India seized

Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets seized at Heathrow Distribution Centre.

A package containing Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets was identified by a courier company based at a depot in Heathrow Distribution Centre.

The package arrived from India containing medicine destined for a residential address in Lancashire.

The medicine was detained and subsequently seized by an inspector from the VMD.

The following medicine was seized:  

  • 5 boxes (each containing 100 tablets) of Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets (Finecure Pharmaceuticals Ltd)

This antibiotic product was intended for use in companion animals. The product listed is not authorised for use in GB or NI and was not accompanied by any relevant certification to permit their import.

The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
