Animal medicine seizure notice: Parcel shipped from Australia addressed to premises in County Londonderry

The following veterinary medicines were identified by a courier company based at a Belfast depot. The products were detained and subsequently seized by Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA).

The products were destined for residential premises in County Londonderry.

The parcel contained:

  • 1 x 100ml bottle – L-Carnitine Injection
  • 1 x 100ml bottle – Foliphos Injectable Phosphorus, Folic Acid & Vitamin B12
  • 2 x 50ml bottles – Macrofol Vitamin B12 + Folic Acid

These products were intended for use in horses and/or dogs and are not authorised veterinary medicines in GB or NI and were not accompanied by any relevant certification to permit their import.

The medicines were seized under Regulation 25 (Importation of unauthorised veterinary medicinal products) of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.
