This notice is published following the conclusion of an investigation case.

The following products were seized by Defra Investigation Services (DIS) as part of an investigation case and in conjunction with Police Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary:

  • 3 empty 5ml vials labelled Разтворител Стерилно
  • 3 empty 5ml vials labelled PG600
  • 10 empty 5ml vials labelled Vanguard Plus 7
  • 6 boxes each containing 30 tablets labelled Бихелдон Praziquantel
  • 2 part used 10ml bottles labelled Busol 0.004mg/ml for injection
  • Clavaseptin 250mg palatable for dogs
  • A box containing a 10ml oral syringe labelled Транквилин 35mg/ml
  • 2 plastic containers each with 15 vials labelled Vanguard Plus 7
  • 1 blister pack containing 3 tablets labelled Clavaseptin 250mg
  • Plastic container with 4 vials labelled Rabisin for injection
  • 1 box of 4 vials and 1 box of 8 vials labelled PG600
  • Plastic container with 9 vials labelled Rabisin for injection
  • 4 part used 10ml bottles labelled Busol 0.004mg/ml for injection
  • 3 5ml vials labelled Vanguard Plus 7
  • 2 5ml vials labelled Vanguard Plus 7
  • 3 unidentified 5ml vials
  • 1 box containing a 100ml bottle labelled Oxytocin
  • 1 box containing a 100ml bottle labelled Baytril
  • 1 empty 10ml bottle labelled Busol 0.004mg/ml for injection
  • 2 parts of a blister pack containing 10 tablets labelled Clavaseptin 250mg
  • 1 envelope labelled as containing Clavaseptin 250mg palatable tablets for dogs
  • 4 blister packs containing a total of 32 tablets labelled BIHELDON Praziquantel
  • 1 box containing 30 tablets labelled Бихелдон Praziquantel
  • 2 boxes containing 30 tablets labelled Бихелдон Praziquantel

These products are non-UK veterinary products. They can only be administered to animals under Schedule 4 (Administration of a veterinary medicinal product outside the terms of a marketing authorisation) of the VMR by vets who have the animals under their care and have obtained a Special Import Certificate (SIC) to obtained the product.

The possession of these products is an offence under Regulation 26 (Possession of an unauthorised veterinary medicinal product) of the VMR. The administration of these products is an offence under Regulation 8 (Administration of the product) of the VMR.

  • 1 part used 100ml bottle labelled Loxicom 1.5mg/ml
  • 1 box containing a 20ml bottle labelled Recicort

These products are UK authorised Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinary (POM-V).

Unauthorised possession and administration of POM-V veterinary medicines are offences under Regulation 7 (Classification, supply and possession of the product) and Regulation 8 (Administration of the product) of the VMR.

  • 1 box labelled Amoxycilin Capsules 250mg
  • 1 box containing a 3.5g tube labelled Maxitrol eye ointment
  • 1 box containing a 10ml bottle labelled Chloramphenicol antibiotic eye drops
  • 1 box containing a 10ml bottle labelled Clorogen eye drops

These products are UK human medicines. These can only be administered to animals under Schedule 4 (Administration of a veterinary medicinal product outside the terms of a marketing authorisation) of the VMR by vets who have the animals under their care.

On examination of the seized products the following were found not to be veterinary medicinal products and no action was taken against these. These were returned to Ms Kavanagh.

  • 1 20ml bottle labelled CaniPlus AI
  • 1 bottle labelled Cushion Fluid
  • 4 20ml bottles labelled CaniPlus Chill LT
  • 2 20ml bottles labelled CaniPlus Chill
  • 4 boxes each containing 25 vials of Progesterone Cartridge
  • A quantity of small sachets labelled Progesterone Cartridge
  • product information sheet for CaniPlus Chill ST

In addition to medicinal products the following items were also seized as part of the investigation

  • various paperwork
  • HP computer
  • Acer computer tower
