A statement from the SIA about the death of Gaby Hutchinson
We are saddened to hear about the tragic loss of lives following the crush at the Brixton Academy event held last week.
Gaby Hutchinson was an SIA licence holder, and our sincere condolences go out to Gaby’s family and friends for their terrible loss. This awful incident is a reminder of the challenges security staff face when carrying out their duties to keep venues and members of the public safe.
Our thoughts are also with all those who knew Rebecca Ikumelo, the young mother who died on Saturday, and with the family and friends of the 21-year-old woman who remains in a critical condition in hospital at this difficult time.
