Minister for Defence Procurement

Responsibilities

The Minister for Defence Procurement is responsible for the Defence Equipment Plan, defence industry and exports, science and technology including:

  • Equipment Plan delivery
  • the nuclear enterprise
  • Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) reform
  • defence exports
  • innovation
  • science and technology including Dstl
  • information computer technology
  • the Gulf
  • the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO)
  • Scotland and Wales

Current role holder: Guto Bebb MP

Guto Bebb was appointed Minister for Defence Procurement at the Ministry of Defence on 9 January 2018.

He was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Wales Office and a Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury) from 19 March 2016 to 9 January 2018.

He was elected MP for Aberconwy in May 2010.
