Public Health England has opened a consultation this week in joint partnership with professional organisations.

The consultation asks for comments about the bacteriology SMI ‘B 37 - Investigation of Blood Cultures (for Organisms other than Mycobacterium species)’.

This method describes the processing and microbiological investigation of blood cultures and aims to set turnaround time standards for each stage of the investigative process. We would like input from a wide range of interested parties.
