Public Health England has opened a consultation this week in joint partnership with professional organisations.

The consultation asks for comments about the bacteriology SMI ‘B 26: investigation of fluids from normally sterile sites.’

This UK standard for microbiology investigations describes the examination of fluids for the detection and recovery of the causative organisms of infections of normally sterile sites. We would like input from a wide range of interested parties.
