Privacy notice for consultation on how should we engage and involve patients in our work

You can read the MHRA Privacy Notice to find out in general terms the types of personal data we process and why; as well as information about your rights and how to raise concerns. The information below is specific to this consultation.

You can participate in this consultation anonymously but if you choose to provide your email address we will add you to our mailing list to offer you future opportunities to hear about or get involved in our work.

We will process any other personal data you provide in the responses for the purpose of informing the development of our policy, guidance or other regulatory work in the subject area of the request for views. We will publish a summary of the consultation responses and, in some cases, the responses themselves but these will not contain any personal data.

We rely on GDPR Article 6(1)(e) as our legal basis for processing your personal data. This allows us to process personal data when this is necessary for the performance of our public tasks in our capacity as a regulator.

We don’t intend to share your personal data with any third party and will handle any specific requests from a third party for us to share your personal data with them in accordance with data protection laws.

We will retain consultation responses until our work on the subject matter of the consultation is complete.

You have the right to request access to the personal data that we hold about you and also to object to us processing your personal data.
