Summary

Consultation on allowing councils to introduce permit schemes to better manage street works instead of needing approval from the Secretary of State.

This consultation ran from

Consultation description

Local councils may introduce traffic management permit schemes to increase their control over how and when utility companies carry out road works.

This consultation invited views on proposals to remove the need for the Secretary for State to approve local authority applications to run permit schemes.
